An adventure trail in the forest

Tree climbing AydatA leisure activity outdoors which consists of moving from tree to tree using suspension bridges, gateways, zip lines and other aerial obstacles. The term “tree climbing” is a contraction of the words “hung” et “industry”, which sums up well the idea of this activity which consists of evolving in the trees while hanging on cables and safety pulleys. This activity is often practiced with family or friends and is intended to offer thrills while developing agility, balance and self-confidence.

An adventure course is made up of several successions of perilous passages, acrobatic and physical, connecting platforms fixed on trees or pylons in a predominantly upright position. Each crossing, with the exception of vertical or steep passages when climbing or descending, is made up of various pieces of equipment attached to one or more cables fixed by winding their ends to the tree trunks serving as supports. Intermediate platforms attached to the trunk allow practitioners to bypass and pass the carabiners to the next gantry, or even take a break and possibly wait until the passengers in front of them have released the next route in case of crowds.

The porticos on a course may vary in number and perilous or physical aspect depending on the degree of difficulty chosen., with the aim of offering a fun and impressive experience. The objective is to combine the sporting aspect with that of adrenaline provided by the sensations of height, of balance and vertigo above the void, just as is the case of via ferrata located between mountain rocks.

This activity can be practiced by any child or adult in good physical condition., even novice, from the start thanks to the different difficulty levels offered, without requiring any particular learning or training technique.

Equipment and briefing

During reception, participants join the management staff. Harnesses for children and adults are available at this location, as well as places to place items such as bags, jackets or drinks.

Each participant is equipped with a harness or harness on each leg up to the belt.. A lanyard similar to that of via ferrata is also attached to the harness, composed of one or two carabiners connected by a strap of approximately 1 metre. The first carabiner is a ring that is put on at the start of the course on the main cable, called “lifeline” continue, serving both for safety and to support the passenger. The second carabiner is optional and must be hooked and unhooked on one of the cables at each gantry. So, if the person loses balance on the acrobatic courses, she performs a simple “mini-chute” of 50 cm to 1 metre, cushioned by the elasticity of the cable on which it remains suspended. The participant is therefore safe and the instructor can come and help them or they can recover themselves using the strength of their arms and feet..

A pulley connected by a strap is also provided to be installed on the cable at the start of each zip line. Protective gloves and/or a helmet are also provided.

Before leaving, a mini-instruction briefing of approximately 15 minutes is given by the instructors to all participants for course advice and safety instructions to follow. The participants then carry out a first trial test as a warm-up and understanding/familiarization on a very easy course located close to the ground., before moving on to the main routes.
