Around Lake Aydat
There are several walking routes to go around the lake, depending on the chosen route.
- A ride of less than 2 hours, the little tour around Lac d’Aydat, you follow the lake for less than 6 kilometers, little elevation change and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes.
- The route of Balirando offers a tour of the enlarged lake with nearly 4 hours of walking for a 13km walk.

The tour of Lake La Cassière
Several loops exist, but the shortest one 4,8 kilometers. This route crosses the bottom of the village of La Cassière, runs along the lake, crosses the forest to the south and west. We remind you that swimming is strictly prohibited in this lake.
The Puy de Combegrasse
Departure is from the dedicated car park at the foot of Puy de Combegrasse, on the D983 after Randanne. The Puy de Vichatel

A circuit up to summit of Mont Redon, a 9.5km loop from Ponteix with 3 walking hours. If your goal is simply to climb Mont Redon, the walk is much shorter, a return trip from Ponteix or Rouillas-Bas is possible. The ending is steep, bring good shoes.
Aydat and its Puys : Hiking 3 Puys

The GR30 : Tour of the Lakes of Auvergne
Two stages of the GR30 are located in the Aydat sector, the step 2 (Orcival-Aydat) et the step 3 (Aydat-Saint-Nectaire). Lac de la Cassière is the first lake on the route, followed by Lake Aydat, second lake on the route of this long-distance hike.
